The Last of Us recasts Manny for season 3 with Jorge Lendeborg Jr.

HBO's The Last of Us has recast the role of Manny in season 3, with Jorge Lendeborg Jr. replacing Danny Ramirez due to scheduling conflicts. Clea DuVall has also joined the cast as a Seraphite. The series, currently in production, continues to adapt the popular post-apocalyptic video game.

The HBO drama The Last of Us, based on the acclaimed video games co-created by Neil Druckmann, has undergone a casting change for its upcoming third season. Danny Ramirez, who previously portrayed Manny, will not return due to scheduling issues, as reported by Deadline. The role has been filled by Jorge Lendeborg Jr., known for his work in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Wu-Tang: An American Saga.

In addition to this recasting, Clea DuVall, recognized from Veep, Argo, and But I’m a Cheerleader, has been cast as a member of the antagonistic Seraphite cult, which is set to debut in season 3. The production is currently underway, following the second season's focus on Abby, played by Kaitlyn Dever, drawing from events in The Last of Us Part II game.

Season 3 is led by showrunner Craig Mazin, who is helming the season solo after Druckmann's departure from co-showrunning duties. The ensemble includes returning stars Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Isabela Merced as Dina, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, Young Mazino as Jesse, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Ariela Barer as Mel, Spencer Lord as Owen, and Jeffrey Wright as Isaac.

The series premiered in January 2023 and was renewed for a third season ahead of the 2025 release of season 2. It is co-produced by HBO and Sony Pictures Television, with executive producers including Mazin, Druckmann, Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O’Connor, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Evan Wells.
