The Prodigy releases acid remix of Sleaford Mods track

The Prodigy has released a remix of Sleaford Mods' 'Elitest G.O.A.T.', calling it a 'dirty, acid 303' version. Liam Howlett, founder of The Prodigy, produced the 'Acid Thunder Remix,' which is available now and will appear on limited-edition singles from June 26. Sleaford Mods' Andrew Fearn also reworked the track as Extnddntwrk.

The remix reworks a track from Sleaford Mods' album 'The Demise Of Planet X,' released earlier this year and featuring Aldous Harding. Howlett blended The Prodigy's pioneering rave sound with Sleaford Mods' raw energy, highlighting Jason Williamson's vocals and Harding's contribution. Pre-orders for the seven-inch singles are open now. Jason Williamson expressed excitement, saying, “Who could ask for more? A Prodigy Remix for ‘Elitest G.O.A.T’ that turns it into another tune entirely. I can’t believe it. Added to that is ‘Extnddntwrk’s under the sensor shift as well. Fuckin’ yes!” Howlett added, “Me and Jason collaborated on our tune, ‘Ibiza’, a few years back, so it was good to get involved with the lads again on this remix. I wanted to hear Jason’s snarlin’ vocal on some dirty, acid 303, so that’s what I cooked up for my version. Along with Aldous Harding’s great vocal… Acid Thunder, baby!” This marks a reunion after collaborations in 2015, when Williamson appeared in The Prodigy's 'Ibiza' video and joined them onstage at the Isle of Wight Festival. The Prodigy plans UK and Ireland arena shows later this month, followed by summer outdoor gigs.
