Tinubu aprova a elevação da Politécnica Federal de Nasarawa ao status de universidade especializada

O presidente Bola Tinubu aprovou a conversão da Politécnica Federal de Nasarawa na Universidade Federal de Mineração, Engenharia e Tecnologia de Nasarawa.

A aprovação ocorreu após uma proposta do senador Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, do Distrito Senatorial de Nasarawa Ocidental. O objetivo é aproveitar os recursos minerais sólidos do estado e apoiar a industrialização nacional.

Um comunicado do porta-voz presidencial, Bayo Onanuga, informou que a nova instituição focará em mineração, engenharia, processamento mineral, metalurgia, manufatura e tecnologias emergentes. Ela também formará trabalhadores qualificados para impulsionar a agregação de valor e a exploração mineral sustentável.

Tinubu orientou o Ministério Federal da Educação, a Comissão Nacional de Universidades e outros órgãos a iniciarem os processos de implementação conforme as leis pertinentes. A medida está alinhada com a sua Agenda de Esperança Renovada para uma educação especializada vinculada às prioridades econômicas.
