Acclaimed golf course designer Tom Fazio is moving forward with plans to renovate East Potomac Golf Links in Washington, D.C., at the request of President Trump. The project aims to transform the nearly century-old municipal course into a championship-caliber facility while addressing drainage issues and preserving public access.
Fazio, 81, initially declined the offer due to concerns over permitting and local opposition but changed his mind after touring the site. He has designed multiple courses for Trump previously and described the location as having Pebble Beach quality in terms of its setting and views of the Washington Monument.
