Tom Morello displays anti-Robinson message at Download Festival

Tom Morello used his performance at Download Festival 2026 to display a direct message aimed at British activist Tommy Robinson.

The former Rage Against the Machine guitarist took the Opus Stage at Donington Park on June 14. He performed a set that included politically charged songs such as 'Killing in the Name' and 'Soldier in the Army of Love'.

Large lettering on the back of his guitar read “FUCK TOMMY ROBINSON,” and festival screens broadcast the message to the crowd. Morello later shared a photo of the guitar on his X account.

This marks the latest instance of Morello targeting right-wing British figures through his stage setup. In 2019 he taped a similar sign reading “FUCK FARAGE” to his guitar during a show supporting Muse.

Morello is scheduled to curate the Power to the People festival in Maryland this October, featuring Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Joan Baez and Serj Tankian.
