Totoro gamaguchi pouches restocked at Donguri Kyowakoku

Studio Ghibli's specialty store Donguri Kyowakoku has recently restocked silicone gamaguchi pouches shaped like Totoro. The design features Totoro's ears as the prongs to open the clasp, making them suitable for holding accessories, keys, and coins. Each pouch is priced at 2,970 yen.

The Japanese term gamaguchi literally means "frog mouth," but it is commonly used in fashion to describe a pouch with a metal clasp that opens wide, resembling a frog's mouth. This figurative sense inspired the design of Totoro-shaped gamaguchi pouches from Studio Ghibli's "My Neighbor Totoro."

Recently restocked at the Studio Ghibli specialty store Donguri Kyowakoku, these pouches are made from smooth, sleek silicone, providing sturdiness without bulk. A clever feature is that Totoro's ears serve as the prongs to push open the clasp. In the anime, the gray Totoro is the "big" one and the blue is the "medium," with a notable height difference, but both pouches are identically sized at 9.5 centimeters in height.

Donguri Kyowakoku recommends them for accessories, keys, and coins, and they would also work well for candies or acorns during a stroll in Ghibli-inspired woodlands. Priced at 2,970 yen each, they are available for order through the Donguri Kyowakoku online store.

This restock offers Ghibli enthusiasts a charming, practical item to add to their collection.
