Houston trailed 3-0 through six innings before Raynel Delgado hit his first career homer in the seventh. Paredes tied the game in the eighth with a solo shot.
Josh Hader escaped a bases-loaded threat in the ninth, and Brice Matthews made a diving catch to preserve the lead. The Astros improved to 42-44 and have won five consecutive series.
Manager Joe Espada praised the team's resilience on the road trip, which ended with a 5-2 record.
