Atlus teases Persona 30th anniversary initiatives for 2026

Atlus developers have shared their aspirations for 2026 in a 4Gamer feature, highlighting preparations for the Persona series' 30th anniversary. The company plans global initiatives and future announcements to elevate the franchise. This comes amid recent releases like the Switch 2 version of Persona 3 Reload.

In its annual roundup of Japanese game developers' hopes for the coming year, 4Gamer interviewed 194 creators, including seven from Atlus. The feature, published on December 26, 2025, captures reflections on 2025 achievements and excitement for 2026.

For the Persona series, which debuted in 1996 with Revelations: Persona, 2026 marks a significant milestone. Atsushi Nomura, a producer in Atlus' P Studio, expressed gratitude to longtime fans and newcomers alike. "We would like to extend our most sincere appreciation to our long-time supporters and those who have recently discovered the series," Nomura said. "We hope to celebrate this milestone together with all of you."

Kazuhisa Wada, the creative producer and chief director of the Persona Team, emphasized global efforts. "With the gratitude we have for all of you, we’re preparing a wealth of initiatives on a global scale, so please look forward to it!" Wada added, "2026 should be a time when we can share news regarding future developments for the series."

Yosuke Uda, another P Studio member, noted the half-anniversary of Persona 5: The Phantom X and pledged to build on the series' momentum. Nomura also mentioned strong support for Persona 4 Revival, hinting at forthcoming details.

Beyond Persona, Atlus staff reflected on 2025 releases. Shinjiro Takada highlighted Raidou Remastered in June and Persona 3 Reload for Nintendo Switch 2 in October. Shigeo Komori, director of the Switch 2 port, described ongoing brainstorming for the next project as "a really fun and exciting time."

Kazuyuki Yamai pointed to multiple anniversaries ahead, while composer Atsushi Kitajoh promoted cozy gaming during winter. Overall, Atlus aims to sustain fan engagement through these celebrations and new groundwork for future titles.
