Bloober Team expands leadership for multi-project structure

Bloober Team, the Polish horror game developer behind the Silent Hill 2 remake and Cronos: The New Dawn, has appointed three new leaders as it transitions to managing multiple projects. The studio is now working on two first-party single-player horror games and five co-developments. CEO Piotr Babieno emphasized the move supports long-term stability without overextending.

Bloober Team announced the leadership changes via GamesIndustry.biz, citing its recent successes with Silent Hill 2 in 2024 and Cronos: The New Dawn in 2025. These hits have positioned the studio to handle seven ongoing projects, including a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Layers of Fear and a third entry in the series as a Nintendo exclusive this year. The company also teased a remake of the original Silent Hill in collaboration with Konami and hinted at a busy schedule ahead, potentially including a Cronos sequel. Bloober named Thaine Lyman, a veteran of Activision and Wargaming, as head of studio. Katya Baukova, previously at Techland and CD Projekt, joins as director of business development. Michał Gembicki, from Klabater SA and CD Projekt, takes on head of publishing. CEO Piotr Babieno stated, 'Bloober Team will continue to operate with two 'first-party' production teams working on the studio's major releases.' He explained the expansion addresses market risks: 'relying on a single title creates too much risk in today's market.' Babieno added, 'We're not interested in growth for the sake of numbers. We believe players don't need a constant flood of releases.' The studio plans two first-party titles alongside five co-developments under its Broken Mirror Games label. Layers of Fear 3 falls into the latter category, with Anshar Studios rumored as a partner.
