Bret Michaels has completed surgery to remove a kidney stone after performing multiple shows despite intense pain. The Poison frontman shared details of his recovery in a social media post.
Michaels performed in Charleston, West Virginia, Grantville, Pennsylvania, and at a private event for veterans at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane before seeking hospital care. The stone did not pass after nearly seven days, leading to his admission the day after the Spokane show.
The procedure is now complete, and Michaels is out of post-operative recovery. He expressed gratitude to medical staff and emphasized the role of family, friends, and fans in his health.
Michaels has a history of managing Type 1 diabetes since childhood and survived a brain hemorrhage and stroke in 2010. He has not announced changes to his tour schedule and plans to resume performing once he receives a full clean bill of health.
