Bungie confirms final Destiny 2 update set for June

Bungie announced that Destiny 2 will receive its final live-service content update on June 9, 2026. The Monument of Triumph patch will close out active development while keeping the game online and playable for players.

Bungie detailed the update in a blog post on Thursday. The free Monument of Triumph content will feature character send-offs, solar system easter eggs, revised loot pools, a new Pantheon activity with fresh bosses, new grenade abilities, and the return of the Director screen menu. The studio emphasized that servers will stay active after the patch, similar to the original Destiny game today. This follows an earlier February announcement delaying a planned major expansion originally titled Shadow and Order to the same June date.
