CD Projekt rebrands as CD Projekt Red

CD Projekt has rebranded as CD Projekt Red following a stakeholder vote. The change unifies the parent company with its game development studio under one name. Officials said the move will improve brand consistency and global recognition.

Stakeholders approved the rebrand at the company's last general meeting. CD Projekt Red previously referred only to the game development division and its five studios. The wider company had operated separately under the CD Projekt name.

In a statement the company said the studio's activities now match its core operations of producing and publishing video games. It added that the new name will support communication of the CD Projekt Red brand and aid recruitment.

Joint CEO Michał Nowakowski recently discussed the studio's ongoing efforts after the 2020 launch of Cyberpunk 2077. He described the period as heartbreaking for a company whose reputation had been its biggest asset.

The rebrand is not expected to affect fans directly but may complicate separation of studio and corporate news.
