Ed Helms and Nat Wolff join Rachel Zegler in 'She Gets It From Me'

Ed Helms and Nat Wolff have joined the cast of the upcoming comedy drama 'She Gets It From Me,' starring Rachel Zegler and Marisa Tomei. The film, directed by Julia von Heinz, is set to begin production on February 26. It explores the reunion between a birth mother and daughter, delving into themes of family and motherhood.

The comedy drama 'She Gets It From Me' marks Rachel Zegler's first feature film project after her role in 'Snow White.' Announced by Variety last year, the movie will commence production on February 26, with Zegler portraying Nicky Jannis, a woman who refuses to marry without first meeting her birth mother. Marisa Tomei stars as Charlotte Wolfe, the mother who gave up her baby years ago and now seeks answers about her daughter's fate.

When the two reunite, they draw in their loved ones, played by Ed Helms and Nat Wolff, into a humorous yet emotional journey that challenges notions of family. Director Julia von Heinz, known for 'Treasure' and 'And Tomorrow the Entire World,' commented on the film's unique angle: “We’ve all seen adoption movies that focus on the search for the long-lost parent. But what happens after that emotional reunion? That’s a whole new territory we explore in this film, full of comedy but also deeply meaningful questions about the nature of motherhood.”

The screenplay is by Jay Reiss, who previously wrote 'The Oranges' and 'The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.' Production is handled by 3311 Productions, Anna Werner for Seven Elephants, Susan Leber, Jack Chinery, and Jay Reiss. Embankment Films has managed pre-sales and will continue handling international sales at the European Film Market, while CAA represents distribution in North America.

Zegler is represented by WME, Tomei by The Gersh Agency, Untitled Entertainment, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole. Von Heinz is with CAA, Wolff with WME and Untitled Entertainment, and Helms with UTA. The project builds on Zegler's rising profile following her debut in high-profile films.
