Governor ratifies humanitarian health crisis in Valle del Cauca

Governor Dilian Francisca Toro confirmed that the humanitarian health crisis persists in the 40 municipalities of Valle del Cauca, with saturation in emergency services.

The governor issued a message on her X account on June 18, 2026. In it she ratified the validity of the crisis and noted that thousands of users face difficulties accessing consultations, treatments and specialized services.

Toro called on health provider institutions to activate contingency plans amid high demand. She also asked insurers to urgently review the contracting of integral service networks.

The governor stressed that the health of Vallecaucanos remains a priority. She indicated that the departmental administration will maintain monitoring of care conditions and necessary measures.
