Huila Police reports positive security balance for December

The National Police in Huila presented a positive security balance for December and year-end festivities, with a significant reduction in homicides and other crimes. This achievement is attributed to preventive work and citizen collaboration, saving several lives in the department.

The Huila Police delivered a positive report on security in December 2025 and during year-end celebrations. Specifically, homicides decreased by 38% compared to the same period the previous year, from 32 to 20 cases, equivalent to 12 lives saved. In rural areas, cattle rustling experienced a drastic 74% decline, highlighting protection for the Huila agricultural sector. During December, authorities seized over 32 kilograms of gunpowder and handled about 30 fights, resulting in 10 injured people.

The 'Desenguayabe' plan remains active to prevent intolerance incidents related to alcohol consumption, ensuring coexistence in the early days of 2026. These measures reflect an ongoing commitment to preserving life and security in the territory.
