Illinois parents charged after fatal home explosion

Three people died in an April 5 explosion at a home in Troy, Illinois. Prosecutors have now charged the homeowners and their adult son in connection with the blast.

The Madison County State's Attorney's Office announced charges on May 30 against Kenneth Cissell, 48, Roberta Cissell, 43, and Colton Cissell, 22. The blast destroyed the family's rented home and killed 19-year-old Ayden Hendrickson, 19-year-old Madeleine Cissell, and 12-year-old Paisley Nishwitz. Madeleine was Roberta Cissell's daughter, and Paisley was under Kenneth Cissell's short-term guardianship.
