Metro Jaya police chief Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri has been promoted to the rank of Komjen under Presidential Decree Number 38/POLRI/TAHUN 2026 dated 13 May 2026.
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said the promotion follows President Prabowo Subianto's directive that the regional military commander and police chief in Jakarta hold three-star ranks.
Metro Jaya police spokesperson Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto confirmed that Asep Edi Suheri now holds the rank of Police Commissioner General.
The National Police Commission stressed that the promotion must be matched by improved public services in the Metro Jaya jurisdiction given its unique social political and economic dynamics.
