Tay Keith's family honors producer in statement following death

The family of BryTavious “Tay Keith” Chambers has released a statement following the producer’s death at age 29. Keith was found unresponsive in his Nashville apartment on June 18.

Keith’s family described him as a visionary producer, songwriter, entrepreneur, philanthropist and cultural force. In the statement sent to Billboard, they noted his work on hits including Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” and Drake’s “First Person Shooter.”

Born in Memphis and based in Nashville, Keith founded the label Drumatized and held this decade’s record for most No. 1s on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. He was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and supported mental health awareness and cancer causes.

Metro Nashville Police conducted a welfare check at his apartment on June 18. His cause of death has not been reported. Memorial arrangements will be shared later, and the family requested privacy and prayers.
