Tesla unveiled its refreshed top-of-the-line Model Y Performance for the US market on September 30, 2025, featuring enhanced range and acceleration. The model offers an EPA-estimated 306 miles of combined range and quicker 0-60 mph sprint. Deliveries are set to begin in December.

The new Tesla Model Y Performance builds on recent updates to the standard Long Range variants, following a slightly earlier debut in Europe. Introduced on September 30, 2025, it addresses previous shortcomings in range while maintaining high performance standards.

Key upgrades include an EPA Combined range of 306 miles, a 29-mile or over 10% increase from the prior 277 miles—returning to levels seen in 2021-2023 models that offered 303 miles. Acceleration improves to 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds, down from 3.5 seconds, with the top speed unchanged at 155 mph. Tesla attributes these gains to high-density battery cells, though capacity details remain undisclosed, alongside aerodynamic enhancements like a new front and rear fascia and carbon spoiler for better downforce and reduced drag.

The vehicle features 21-inch Arachnid wheels with staggered tires for improved grip, adaptive damping for handling, and new drive modes for high-speed control. Interior refinements include a quiet cabin with premium sound-damping and acoustic glass, heated and ventilated front sport seats, heated rear seats with power recline, and bolstered side cushions. A larger 16-inch touchscreen replaces the previous 15.4-inch display.

Pricing starts at an MSRP of $57,490, up $6,000 from the outgoing model, plus $1,640 in destination and order fees, totaling $59,130. It briefly qualified for the $7,500 federal tax credit on launch day but no longer does, raising the effective cost difference to $13,500 compared to the prior version. Supercharging remains at a maximum 250 kW, adding up to 144 miles in 15 minutes.

A notable addition is Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, allowing power export of up to 2.4 kW (120V at 20 amps) via an $80 Tesla Outlet Adapter connected to the mobile connector—suitable for tools or devices. Tesla confirmed this on X: "New Model Y Performance offers Vehicle to Load (120V 20A AC) with Tesla Outlet Adapter." It is unclear if other Model Y variants will receive V2L, which is currently available on the Cybertruck up to 11.5 kW.
