At a December 19 memorial, Stock's sister Nicole said: “This is not where his voice should’ve ended, this is where it should’ve been loudest... It was a gun in the hands of evil that stole my brother.” His funeral occurred on December 23.

The case ties into a wider scandal of alleged drug cartel infiltration of South Africa's justice system, police, and security firms—previously linked to killings of DJ Sumbody (2022) and DJ Vintos (2022), stemming from a stolen cocaine haul.
