Voice actor used gallons of milk for Resident Evil Requiem's The Girl

Delanie Nicole Gill, the voice actor for The Girl in Resident Evil Requiem, revealed she drank gallons of milk during recording sessions to achieve the character's gurgling sounds. She shared the details at a panel during MegaCon Orlando 2026. The technique involved thickening her saliva over two four-hour sessions.

At MegaCon Orlando 2026, Delanie Nicole Gill explained the unconventional method behind voicing The Girl, the lumbering Shadow Ghost who pursues protagonist Grace in Resident Evil Requiem. Gill described drinking large quantities of milk to alter the consistency of her spit, producing the eerie gurgling and clicking noises that define the character. She conducted two four-hour recording sessions, consuming two jugs of milk each about the size of a gallon. To manage the excess saliva, Gill placed a towel on her lap, noting, 'Because of the way my mouth was arranged, my bottom lip was down, and it was just dripping in my lap.' Gill stated, 'We did two four-hour sessions, and I went through two jugs of milk around this big [roughly the size of a gallon] to thicken up my spit.' Resident Evil Requiem, released in February, has achieved 6 million sales across platforms, marking it as the fastest-selling title in Capcom's survival horror series. Capcom announced earlier this month that a new story expansion is in development, set to delve deeper into the game's world. The revelation from Gill adds a behind-the-scenes layer to the game's acclaimed audio design, which has contributed to its commercial success.
