Woman charged in fatal Baltimore parking dispute

A 49-year-old woman faces assault charges in the death of a 71-year-old man who intervened in a parking dispute in Baltimore last year. Kiannah Bonaparte is accused of kicking Gregory Turnipseed in the head during the October 2025 incident.

The attack occurred on Saint Paul Street on October 17, 2025. Turnipseed, a Baltimore City Department of Transportation employee, approached a black Chevrolet SUV to tell the driver that another vehicle was waiting for the spot. A teenage girl exited and punched him, while Bonaparte, the alleged driver, kicked him in the head, according to police. Turnipseed suffered a brain bleed and underwent surgery. He died on November 26, 2025. He had identified Bonaparte as one of his attackers before his death. The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide. Bonaparte appeared in court on Tuesday. She is charged with first- and second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, and reckless endangerment. She rejected a plea deal and is scheduled to return to court on Friday. Investigators believe the teenage girl was her daughter. Family members described Turnipseed as a helpful person. 'He was trying to help, and he has always been that type of person,' friend Donald Rainey told WBAL.
