200 digital platforms submit child safety risk reports

Around 200 digital platforms have submitted self-assessment reports on child safety risk profiles to the Indonesian government. Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid announced this in Jakarta on Thursday.

The announcement fulfills obligations under Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 on Electronic System Governance for Child Protection, known as PP Tunas. Reporting platforms include Netflix, ChatGPT, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Shopee, Tokopedia, and Lazada.

The Ministry of Communication and Digital is evaluating the reports to determine each platform's risk level. Once complete, official risk profiles will be disclosed to the public.

Minister Meutya Hafid said the risk-based approach aims to drive behavioral changes in platforms. TikTok has deactivated 4.1 million child accounts as of June 2026, while YouTube removed 600,000 child accounts in May 2026.

Meutya stressed that platforms yet to report will be given time but monitored for legal enforcement.
