He welcomed €1.5bn in international pledges from a recent Berlin conference for Sudan aid and noted Egypt's role in a quadrilateral mechanism for ceasefire and political process.
Boulos praised Egypt's contributions to stability in Sudan and reaffirmed Washington's commitment to close coordination with Cairo. The meeting also covered Lebanon, where Al-Sisi commended US ceasefire efforts, and issues in the Horn of Africa.
Al-Sisi welcomed an agreement between the Democratic Republic of the Congo government and the M23 group to expand a regional ceasefire monitoring mechanism, expressing Egypt's support for stability efforts and rejection of threats to Horn of Africa security.
