ASOBARES projects $656.806 million extra from World Cup

The Colombian Bar and Restaurant Association estimates nearly $656.806 million in extra revenue during the 2026 World Cup season due to a 23.5% sales increase.

According to ASOBARES, June will concentrate 63.2% of the impact with $415.356 million in additional revenue. July would add $241.450 million driven by knockout stages, semifinals and the final.

Saturdays 13, 20 and 27 June stand out due to high match schedules. June 27 includes the match between Colombia and Portugal.

Camilo Ospina Guzmán, president of ASOBARES, stated that the World Cup represents an opportunity to boost employment and energize the nighttime economy. The guild recommends special attention to scheduling, inventories and security for those dates.
