Cundinamarca, Antioquia and Valle del Cauca lead motorcycle sales in 2025

Colombia's motorcycle market closed 2025 with over 1.1 million units registered, a historic record marking a 34.94% growth from 2024. Cundinamarca, Antioquia and Valle del Cauca accounted for 45.56% of annual sales, while in December brands like Bajaj and AKT stood out.

Colombia's motorcycle sector hit a milestone in 2025 by registering over 1.1 million new units, surpassing the previous record and placing the country in the global top 10 for two-wheeled vehicle sales. According to the report from the Andi and Fenalco Motorcycle Industry Chamber, this 34.94% annual growth underscores the motorcycles' role as essential transport for mobility, work, and income generation, particularly in urban and rural areas.

Territorially, Cundinamarca led with 205,936 units (18.72%), followed by Antioquia with 177,675 (16.15%) and Valle del Cauca with 117,624 (10.69%), together comprising 45.56% of the national market. The top 10 departments, including Santander (61,885 units, 5.63%) and others like Norte de Santander, Atlántico, and Bolívar, accounted for 72.77% of the total with 800,615 vehicles. In contrast, regions like San Andrés (1,200 units, 0.11%) and Amazonas (1,167, 0.15%) had minimal figures.

In December 2025, 112,310 motorcycles were registered, a 30.86% increase from the same month in 2024. The same three leading departments concentrated 45.76%, with Cundinamarca at 21,110 units (18.08%). At the municipal level, Sabaneta (Antioquia) topped with 8,664 (7.71%), followed by Funza (Cundinamarca) and El Cerrito (Valle del Cauca).

Leading brands were Bajaj with 180,572 units (16.41%), AKT with 175,555 (15.96%), and Yamaha with 167,512 (15.23%). In December, Bajaj recorded 18,458 (16.43%) and AKT 17,133 (15.26%). The 101-125 CC segment dominated with 46.02% of monthly sales, and the top 10 models, such as the AKT AK125NKD EIII (7,902 units), featured advanced braking systems like ABS or CBS.

This performance solidifies the sector's dynamism, with a monthly average of 91,679 units and a 26.22% rise from November.
