Ethiopia National Dialogue Conference to begin July 8

Ethiopia's National Dialogue Commission has completed agenda collection and moved to the conference stage. The event starts July 8, 2018 EC in Addis Ababa.

The commission publicly released eight main agendas on June 17, 2018 EC. These include country building, government organization and form, status of federal cities, religious issues, institution building and rule of law, social and economic benefits for farmers and pastoralists, corruption and good governance, and peace matters.

The agenda collection phase involved extensive public discussions over recent years. That phase has now closed.

The National Dialogue Conference will gather more than four thousand representatives. It will focus on building consensus on the formulated agendas.
