F1 confirms 2026 season will not end in Las Vegas

Formula 1 chief executive Stefano Domenicali has confirmed that the 2026 season finale will not take place in the United States if races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi are cancelled.

Domenicali stated that a decision on the final two Grands Prix will be made by mid-September. He said the races remain confirmed for now and are already sold out.

If the events cannot proceed due to regional instability, the season will conclude in Europe instead. Domenicali ruled out any additional races in the US, including a possible double-header in Las Vegas or another event at Austin's Circuit of the Americas.

Imola has emerged as the leading candidate to host the finale. Domenicali noted that weather conditions in early December should permit racing there, though he acknowledged the risk of snow.
