Following the January 3 accident at Gambir Station where musician Fiersa Besari's wife Aqia was hit by a car, Fiersa has withdrawn the police report despite losses over Rp7 million. The decision prioritizes humanitarian grounds, as the elderly driver faces financial hardship; Aqia faces 3-6 weeks recovery from muscle trauma.
In the update to the Gambir Station incident, Fiersa Besari chose to withdraw the police report filed after his wife Aqia was struck by an elderly driver's car on January 3, 2026, while preparing for a family trip to Yogyakarta.
After discussions with Aqia and his management, Fiersa cited her reluctance for a prolonged legal process and the driver's circumstances—the vehicle was borrowed, indicating limited means. "I initially wanted to proceed, but Aqia didn't. We saw that the man isn't wealthy, and the car was borrowed," Fiersa shared on Instagram.
Police still issued a fine to the 60-70-year-old driver and impounded his vehicle registration. Aqia's X-rays confirmed no fractures, only muscle trauma with swelling; she now uses a leg brace, with recovery estimated at 3-6 weeks. "Thank God the X-ray shows no cracks or broken bones," Fiersa noted.
Financial impacts are substantial: non-refundable hotel (Rp3,636,400), train tickets (Rp1,504,500), and medical costs (Rp2,252,006), totaling over Rp7 million, plus disrupted activities like gym and tennis. Fiersa highlighted the inadequacy of the driver's Rp200,000 offer: "‘200 thousand’ they say. Add it up yourself, not including losses for the coming months."
This follows the initial report of the accident, where the driver downplayed injuries and advanced the vehicle again despite Aqia's pain.
