Bränder i Garpenberg föranleder möte med invånare

Fyra hus har brunnit ner i Garpenberg de senaste veckorna. Polisen utesluter inte ett samband mellan bränderna och har ökat sin närvaro i området. Ett informationsmöte med omkring 80 bybor hölls på onsdagskvällen.

Samtliga bränder har skett nattetid i ödehus eller sommarstugor. Ingen person har skadats.

Polisen har förstärkt sin närvaro med personal från Borlänge och Falun. Magnus Sjödén, biträdande lokalpolisområdeschef, säger att området är geografiskt snävt och att en koppling utreds.

Runt 70 till 80 boende samlades på mötet där polisen och Hedemora kommun informerade. Kort efter mötet inkom ytterligare ett larm om brand i Garpenberg.
