Veteran Ethiopian singer and lyricist Rahel Yohannes has died. She was known in the country's music history especially for her Ayishire and traditional works.
Her funeral took place at Debre Mihret Sahelite Mihret Kidist Mariam and Kidist Kristos Semra Cathedral in Addis Ababa. Former colleagues, fans, family members and friends attended.
The artist was a mother of two sons and four daughters. During her artistic life she contributed many unforgettable works to the public.
