The government will meet Thursday with economic actors affected by the Gironde fires at the Economy Ministry. Emergency measures have already been announced for impacted businesses.
Businesses destroyed, employees unable to work and shops closed due to evacuations: the Gironde fires are disrupting local economic activity. Several organizations representing small businesses, independents and tourism professionals asked Tuesday for exceptional state aid and better insurance coverage.
Partial activity measures are in place and requests can be sent until August 28. Directly affected firms, those in evacuated zones or impacted by fire consequences are eligible. The URSSAF network offers employer social contribution payment schedules of up to twelve months.
For independents, the CPSTI has set up exceptional financial aid. Affected businesses have until August 31 to declare their losses to insurers. The Trade Minister's office is considering support measures for seasonal workers whose contracts have not started.
