Hashdex sets two-tier staking terms for NCIQ ETF

Hashdex has outlined a staking income structure for its Nasdaq CME Crypto Index ETF that prioritizes sponsor payments before trust distributions. The plan was detailed in a July 23 filing and remains prospective.

Hashdex plans to stake a portion of assets held by its NCIQ ETF, with Coinbase Cloud named as the initial provider. Staking is expected to begin promptly subject to operational readiness.

Under the terms, a staking provider retains its fees first. Hashdex then takes all net staking income up to 0.25 percent of common-share net asset value through a separate Sponsor Share. Income above that level is split 40 percent to Hashdex and 60 percent to the trust.

The threshold applies over each fiscal year and is prorated for partial periods. As of July 26, Ethereum, Solana and Cardano holdings totaled 15.41 percent of the fund, though actual staking targets range from 10 to 20 percent of NAV.

The arrangement is separate from the fund's existing 0.25 percent management fee. Risks such as unbonding periods, validator issues and slashing could affect performance and redemptions.
