Styrmedelsutredningen, som tillsattes av regeringen 2024, väntas lämna flera förslag för att Sverige ska nå sina klimatmål till 2030 och 2045. Bland förslagen finns en successiv höjning av reduktionsplikten till 21 procent 2028, 23 procent 2029 och 25 procent 2030 samt en skattesänkning på drivmedel med 1,80 kronor. Sverigedemokraternas partiledare Jimmie Åkesson avvisar förslagen. "Vi kommer inte att acceptera det", skriver han till Aftonbladet. Han beskriver förslagen som röda linjer för partiet.

Även vikarierande klimat- och miljöminister Johan Britz (L) motsätter sig höjd reduktionsplikt och drivmedelsskatter. "Rätt väg är att elektrifiera", säger han i en kommentar.
