IPW urges Propam to probe police officer as project broker in Bekasi

Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) has urged the National Police's Professional and Security Division (Propam) to investigate a police officer with initials YS for allegedly acting as a broker in procurement projects for Bekasi Regency government. IPW Chairman Sugeng Teguh Santoso called for scrutiny of ethics violations and corruption linked to Rp16 billion in fees YS received since 2022. The issue surfaced after YS testified in a corruption trial at the Bandung Corruption Court.

Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) has called on the National Police's Professional and Security Division (Propam) to examine Yayat Sudrajat (YS), an active police officer suspected of brokering procurement projects in Bekasi Regency government.

YS, known as "Lippo", admitted being an active Polri member while testifying in a corruption trial over project advances at the Bandung Corruption Court on April 8, 2026. He confirmed profiting from projects linked to suspect Sarjan, receiving around Rp16 billion in fees since 2022.

Sugeng stated YS may have violated laws on gratuities and money laundering (TPPU). He urged tracing fund flows, including possible kickbacks to superiors. "Perlu ditelusuri ke mana saja aliran dana itu, termasuk kemungkinan setoran kepada pihak lain," he said.

IPW stressed the need for transparency to maintain public trust, hoping YS discloses recipients of any payments.
