Milei defends Adorni amid questions over his sworn declaration

President Javier Milei publicly backed his Cabinet chief Manuel Adorni as political tensions grow over the official's sworn declaration. The opposition is pushing for a session on June 23.

Milei shared an Instagram post stating that keeping Adorni would strengthen his political position. He also endorsed publications defending the official's explanations about his cryptocurrencies.

Vice President Victoria Villarruel criticized Adorni with an Instagram meme that mocked his US$500 in cryptocurrencies. Days earlier she had called his explanations a "shame" and demanded he report to the Senate.

Gabriel Sánchez Zinny, Cabinet chief of Buenos Aires City, said the PRO would let the justice system investigate and would not support an interpellation to avoid helping Kirchnerism. The bloc has yet to define its stance on the session scheduled for June 23.

Libertarian deputy Lisandro Almirón distanced himself from the case and stated that he would "only put his hands in the fire for Javier Milei".
