Mobility Secretariat investigates massive database leak

Bogotá’s Secretaría Distrital de Movilidad confirmed the exfiltration of data from a historical database managed by a technology provider. The entity activated response protocols and is assessing the scope of the incident.

Following technical and forensic checks, the Secretariat detected the leak of information from a database used for internal queries. The incident involves records managed by an external provider.

The entity formed a crisis team and asked the provider for additional containment measures and technical reports. Specialized teams continue reviewing the records to determine the volume of affected data.

The Secretariat reiterated that protection of personal data is a priority and will keep the public informed through official channels once verified results are obtained.
