On the night of Tuesday, December 29, a gun attack was reported at the El Aguachilango seafood restaurant, located on Eje Central, Lázaro Cárdenas and Meave, in central Mexico City. According to the C4 Alert team, the fatal victim was Carlos 'N', the owner of the establishment, who had been detained at least twice in the past. During one of his prison stays, he was involved in a violent brawl with another inmate but later regained his freedom and took over the restaurant.
The victims were eating at the venue when armed men opened fire and fled on a motorcycle. Witnesses ran to hide and alerted authorities. Officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) confirmed two people shot: one died at the scene, and the other was taken to a hospital by ambulances from the Rescue and Medical Emergencies Squad (ERUM), SAMU, and private services.
