In the second half, PSIM took the initiative. At the 49th minute, Nermin Haljeta scored the opener by capitalizing on Ezequiel Vidal's pass, making it 1-0. PSIM nearly added another through Vidal, but it was disallowed for offside.
PSIM's lead extended in the 59th minute when the referee awarded a penalty after Henhen Herdiana fouled Anton Fase in the box. The foul earned Herdiana a second yellow card and ejection, leaving Persik with 10 players.
