Steelers tight ends land on PFF top 32 list

Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington of the Pittsburgh Steelers have been named to Pro Football Focus's list of the top 32 tight ends in the NFL.

Freiermuth ranked No. 20 on the list while Washington placed at No. 27. The duo gives the Steelers one of the stronger tight end groups in the league.

Freiermuth enters the 2026 season after a lower production year in 2025. He is expected to lead the position group in receiving after Jonnu Smith departed the team.

Washington, ranked lower despite strong blocking skills, caught 31 passes for 364 yards last season. His red zone scoring remains limited with just two career touchdowns.

New head coach Mike McCarthy is set to oversee the unit. The rankings also included two tight ends each from the New York Giants and Chicago Bears.
