Addis Ababa city administration's Kentiba Adanech Abiebie has provided 4 million birr in aid for child Bilen, who has been suffering from hydrocephalus for the past 10 years. This financial support will enable the child to travel abroad for necessary medical treatment. The Kentiba visited the child's home through her social services office.

Addis Ababa, Ketit 25, 2018 (Fana Media) – Child Bilen, who has been afflicted for the past 10 years by hydrocephalus caused by high intracranial pressure and swelling in the Addis Ababa Angel area, has received 4 million birr in aid for life-saving medical treatment. This support comes from the Addis Ababa city administration through Kentiba Adanech Abiebie's social services office.

The Kentiba visited child Bilen's residence and noted her emaciated condition. Doctors had prescribed travel abroad for treatment, but financial limitations prevented it until now. The 4 million birr was handed to her father to cover the required medical costs.

Bilen's father works as a city guard. He supports Bilen, her younger sister Tanash, another physically injured sister, and their disabled mother who receives a military service pension. The Kentiba described this aid as part of addressing city residents' challenges.

The family states that the current home is unsuitable for the prescribed physiotherapy treatment and poses significant difficulties due to Bilen's symptoms; they hope for improved housing. The overall medical expenses for Bilen were presented to Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Ali Al Amudi with thanks from the Kentiba. Bilen's mother responded affirmatively, believing her daughter will soon walk like her peers, attend school, and thrive.
