Addis Ababa residents urge new government to focus on development and peace

Residents of Addis Ababa have called on the political party forming the new government to fulfill voter expectations by advancing development projects, creating youth jobs, and ensuring lasting peace.

Residents told Fana Media Corporation that the winning party must continue large development projects, generate extensive job opportunities for youth, and ensure reliable peace.

City resident Hirut Goshme recalled that the country is now in the post-election period. She said the incoming authority must direct its full attention to tasks that benefit the nation and its citizens.

Tsehaynesh Mamo urged the new government to lead the country forward in peace, love, and unity. She stressed the need to protect the rights of women and children as well as to ensure equality.

Berhanu Kemal stated that whichever party assumes power should serve the country faithfully through close cooperation with citizens. He called for strong focus on development and peace initiatives to advance Ethiopia.
