Visitors at a media preview of Disneyland Paris' new Disney Adventure World have encountered a highly realistic animatronic Olaf in the nightly show A Celebration in Arendelle. The Frozen-themed land features boat-based performances, character meet-and-greets, and opens officially on March 29th. Olaf appears on a boat with Kristoff, speaking English while Kristoff speaks French.
Disneyland Paris has revamped its Walt Disney Studios park into Disney Adventure World, introducing World of Frozen with various attractions. During a media preview, reporters witnessed the new nightly show, A Celebration in Arendelle, set on the harbor using boats. The performance begins with Olaf and Kristoff arriving on the first boat. Olaf, an animatronic figure, speaks in English and takes charge of decorations for the Snowflower Festival, while Kristoff speaks in French. The animatronic Olaf impressed observers with its realistic appearance and movements. In case of malfunction, known as B-mode, a puppet Olaf substitutes. This boat appearance marked the only sighting of Olaf during the preview; it remains unclear if the character will roam the land for guest interactions post-opening on March 29th. The show continues with dancers on a float amid water jets forming flowers. Olaf then realizes he forgot snow crystals, prompting the arrival of Anna and Elsa on the final boat. Elsa employs her powers to generate water effects, fireworks, and the missing crystals. Reviewers described the show as fun and cute. Additionally, Royal Encounter allows meetings with Anna and Elsa inside the castle, accessed via a side archway. The queue passes through recognizable film locations like the entrance hall. Multiple doors facilitate meetings with both characters simultaneously, aided by PhotoPass photography. A virtual queue will be required from March 29th. Guests can also meet Mickey Mouse at Adventure Way. The park stayed open during construction, with the name change and new areas launching on March 29th.
