Constitutional Court rejects Castilla-La Mancha appeal against amnesty law

The Constitutional Court has dismissed the appeal filed by the Castilla-La Mancha government against the amnesty law.

The court applied doctrine from prior rulings that already addressed the constitutionality of the measure promoted by Pedro Sánchez's government.

The ruling states that the Constitution does not prohibit amnesty and that lawmakers did not act arbitrarily in approving it.

The regional government filed the appeal in October 2024 after a report from the advisory council.

The court also dismissed claims regarding state powers and the functions of the public prosecutor's office.
