The Cowboys secured Aubrey with an average annual value of $7 million, topping Ka'imi Fairbairn's $6.5 million mark. CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones reported the extension details, which provide Dallas with long-term stability at the position. Aubrey's contract eclipses Butker's prior high of $25.6 million total value and $15 million in guarantees from his Kansas City Chiefs deal. This marks a significant investment in one of the league's most reliable performers. A former soccer player, Aubrey transitioned to football with the USFL's Birmingham Stallions in 2022 before joining Dallas ahead of the 2023 season. Since then, he has earned three Pro Bowl selections and three All-Pro honors, including first-team in 2023. He boasts an 88.2% career field goal success rate, highlighted by a league-record six makes from 60-plus yards, three of which came in 2025 alone. Negotiations followed February reports that Aubrey sought nearly $10 million annually. Instead, the Cowboys issued a second-round tender worth about $5.8 million for 2026. The finalized extension falls short of that figure per year but delivers record guarantees and secures Aubrey as the richest kicker in the game.
