Disneyland Resort announced two upcoming closures in August for seasonal changes and renovations. The Haunted Mansion will shut down temporarily for its annual holiday overlay, while Main Street Cinema ends its current film screening.
The Haunted Mansion attraction is scheduled to close on August 8, 2026. It will reopen on August 21 with the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay featuring characters from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.
This version of the ride is expected to operate until sometime in January 2027. Last year the overlay ran until January 7, 2026.
Main Street Cinema will close on August 10, 2026. The venue has been screening a short film called The Last Verse tied to the resort’s 70th anniversary celebration, which ends on August 9, 2026.
Disney has not announced a reopening date for the cinema or confirmed plans to return it to classic cartoon screenings.
