Faconauto launches working group for Heavy Vehicle Auto Plan

The dealers' association starts the Heavy Vehicle Auto Plan in a record year for the sector, with forecasts of 32,296 registrations in 2026.

On July 8, the first meeting of the Heavy Vehicle Auto Plan Working Group was held, coordinated by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility. The plan aims to renew fleets with incentives for zero and low emission vehicles, charging infrastructure and support for manufacturers in Spain.

Faconauto has raised its forecasts and estimates 4.2% growth in registrations this year, reaching 32,296 units and surpassing the 2024 record. In the first half, 15,909 industrial vehicles were registered, up 13.2% from the previous year.

The organization advocates aids tied to scrapping old vehicles and keeps all technologies open. The sector faces challenges such as skilled labor shortages and business concentration.

Pilar Fernández, president of Faconauto's Industrial Division, said 2026 is “its best sales year since 2017”.
