Fátima Bosch returned to Mexico a month after being crowned Miss Universo 2025, participating in her first public event in Teapa, Tabasco, on December 14. During a welcome parade, the 24-year-old model waved to the crowd from a float and moved to the music, which went viral on social media.
In circulated videos, a Miss Universo staff member approaches Bosch, who keeps dancing. Moments later, a woman from the team grabs her by the waist and carries her off the vehicle, eliciting laughter and confusion among onlookers. The scene drew immediate criticism on the show 'Ventaneando', where host Pati Chapoy remarked: “They said: ‘better, sweetie, we'll hold you back for a bit because it's already too much’”. Reporter Ricardo Manjarrez added: “I think she forgets she's Miss Universe, not the carnival queen; I mean, she's Miss Universe (…) you have certain protocols already”.
Mónica Castañeda quipped: “You can only do ‘short, short, long, long’ (…) twerking isn't in the protocol”. Pedro Sola agreed, stating she's “making a bad impression” and that protocols are needed for public events involving Miss Universes. Bosch, daughter of Bernardo Bosch linked to Pemex, has not directly responded to these criticisms.
Meanwhile, amid fraud allegations involving alleged deals with businessman Raúl Rocha Cantú and family ties, Bosch shared a family karaoke video to Bad Bunny's ‘Tití me preguntó’. In the caption, she joked: “Scandal, the corrupt family isn't satisfied with just the crown, now they want to buy a Grammy Award”. Former judges like Omar Harfouch have labeled her an “illegal winner” and demanded she return the crown, claiming attempts to influence votes. Rodrigo Goytortua, a former collaborator, described the win as an “agreement” rather than a direct purchase.
These controversies follow initial insults from host Nawat Itsaragrisil and resignations from some contestants, like Olivia Yacé from Côte d'Ivoire, dissatisfied with the outcome. Bosch remains in Tabasco with her family, enjoying her return despite the backlash.
