The FIA will hold a virtual hearing on Thursday to consider Alpine's request for a review of penalties that cost Pierre Gasly a podium in the Monaco Grand Prix.
The governing body confirmed on Tuesday that it received two petitions from Alpine relating to the five-second penalties for pit lane speeding. Gasly crossed the line third on Sunday but dropped to seventh after the penalties were applied for exceeding the 60km/h limit by 0.1km/h and 0.4km/h. The revised result promoted Isack Hadjar to the podium. The hearing, set for 1pm CET, will first examine whether Alpine can show a significant new element unavailable at the time of the original decisions. Only then will stewards consider overturning the penalties. Gasly described the outcome as unfair and said he knew about the penalties during a late red flag but still pushed to maximize his result.
