Försäkringskassan reclaims 645 million kronor from Skåne residents

Over the past five years Försäkringskassan has demanded repayment of 645 million kronor from Skåne residents. In total 3,350 people in the region have been reported to police for suspected benefit fraud.

The most frequent reports concern benefits linked to children. These include VAB, parental allowance and child benefit.

The figures were presented in an investigation published by Sydsvenskan. Jonas Nyrén wrote the article.

Försäkringskassan demanded the money back after suspicions of intentional abuse of the rules.
